Language Translation Device (LTD)

LTD is a palm-sized device with rich features that demolish language barrier!

Based on CYBIT's speech recognition technology, LTD is designed for translation between any two languages with fixed message set. The current LTD implements translation of 1,000 sentences from Japanese to English, covering topics such as greetings, emergencies, transportation (at the airport, train station, etc.), food, shopping, entertainment, and so on. User can also add "my favorite" sentences as well as "frequently used" sentences. Additionally, LTD serves as a digital voice recorder by allowing up to 20-minute voice recording. The maximum number of sentences is limited only by the memory size of the SD card. For translation between any other languages, user simply changes the SD card.

LTD has two input modes: either by speaking a sentence (via built-in microphone) or by selecting a text sentence (via LCD). For output, both the translated spoken sentence (via built-in speaker) and text sentence (via LCD) are presented.

LTD is useful for many applications including law enforcement in a multilingual community, foreign travel, language learning, and so on.
