ClearTalk Voice Enhancement

Given a mixture of desired speech signal with disturbing background noise, ClearTalk, using only one microphone, substantially suppresses background noise to significantly enhance the clarity, quality and intelligibility of the speech signal.

ClearTalk has obvious application for any mobile device with microphone for speech input under noisy conditions. Examples include mobile phone and Bluetooth headset; VoIP or WiFi/Internet phone; military battlefield communication; field news reporting; automobile voice command (voice recognition); digital dictation/recording; and so on. For two-way communication, e.g., mobile phone, ClearTalk can apply to both directions of the communication link, i.e., ClearTalk will clean the outgoing noisy speech and also clean the incoming noisy speech.

 

Another important use of ClearTalk is for non-real-time cleaning and enhancing any noisy speech files (speech corrupted by noise) for many applications such as speech archiving; intelligence gathering (from recorded noisy conversations); speech playback (source material preparation for children books); and so on.

 

FEATURES

• ClearTalk applies to mono (single-channel) voice signal with 8KHz sample rate (telephone speech bandwidth). Extension to other (higher) sample rates can be easily customized.
• I/O format: 16 bit/sample linear PCM.
